The first National Bank said on Tuesday it had the ability to carry out operations at its ATMs.
This will allow customers to touch their contact card in the FNB ATM reader and enter a PIN to complete the transaction without having to enter their bank card.
This function is currently available at 100 FNB ATMs and will be updated throughout 2019. The bank said in a statement.
FNB calculates automatic ATM "tap and pin" for up to 20 seconds per transaction.
"As well as convenience, FNB will also have more protection against card scanning devices, because it is not a retirement card," he said.
FNB Retail CEO Raj Makanjee has said in the last three years, about $ 1 million of R1 million in relation to payments of 5 million transactions on consumer credit and debit cards granted by the F1B.
