FNB brings functionality to ATMs

The first National Bank said on Tuesday it had the ability to carry out operations at its ATMs.

This will allow customers to touch their contact card in the FNB ATM reader and enter a PIN to complete the transaction without having to enter their bank card.

This function is currently available at 100 FNB ATMs and will be updated throughout 2019. The bank said in a statement.

FNB calculates automatic ATM "tap and pin" for up to 20 seconds per transaction.

"As well as convenience, FNB will also have more protection against card scanning devices, because it is not a retirement card," he said.

FNB Retail CEO Raj Makanjee has said in the last three years, about $ 1 million of R1 million in relation to payments of 5 million transactions on consumer credit and debit cards granted by the F1B.

"Consumers' usage has increased between 100% and 300% on credit cards and debit cards, respectively, highlighting the confidence of our customers through safe and secure payment methods," said Makanje.

The Bank has more than 8,5 million in-capacity contacts and credit cards in the hands of consumers.

FNB has been paid in the FNB application and have also been proven FitBit Pay and Garmin Pay. "FNB PayPage processes the average 700 contacts per day transaction, and more than R1.5 million of contact transactions have been processed over the past two months on FitBit Pay and Garmin Pay."
