SpaceX Crew Dragon: What to expect for its demo launch NASA

CAPE CANAVERAL, Florida – SpaceX is launching one of the most critical space missions in the 17-year history.

After years of delay, NASA and its partners have set up space for astronauts to launch a new Space Crew Dragon (or Dragon 2) space for the first time.

Elon Musk's rocket company shows how astronauts can fly safely in their commercial spaces. NASA, meanwhile, describes it as a "critical step" in restoring the ability to launch a mission in the United States of America's US astronaut space.

Crew Dragon Falcon 9 wants to start on Saturday at 2:49 a.m. at Kennedy Space Center in Cape Canaveral, Florida. No one will fly into the spacecraft for the first demonstration: a single burden and sensor of dollars.

"His name is Ripley," Hans Koenigsmann, SpaceX vice president, and the reliability of the flight, revealed on Thursday. Dummy's name is Ellen Ripley's homage to Sigourney Weaver as the star of the movie "Alien".

The mission is called SpaceX Demo-1 in formal circles, and if it is fun, the spacecraft will enter the International Space Station, linking it to $ 150 million in laboratories and later returning to Earth a few days later.

"It's a Demo-1 flight test, it's totally a mission, even a real mission, a very critical mission," said Kirk Shireman NASA Johnson Space Center's space station program. next race "ISS still has three people on the board, so the vehicle must first work for the ISS. It must work."

Here's what I expected and SpaceX's Crew Dragon space first experimental or orbital class.
