Two dogs were killed, the house destroyed by Wellington Crescent

Two dogs were killed on Wednesday when a house in Wellington Crescent was destroyed.

The Winnipeg Fire and Paramedic crews went to the 800 blocks of Wellington Crescent after 9:30 a.m., after receiving a warning about residential living.

The Russian Drohomereski chief executive said the crew was initially entering the river to face the blast basin, but it quickly changed.

"In the design of the house, we had problems finding access to the basement," said Drohomeres. "When they found it, the floor became dangerous, so it was no longer safe inside.

"We went outside the defense strategy".

Firefighters still in the vicinity of Wellington Crescent and Waverley Street were not allowed to stop smoking. Street traffic was closed in both directions.

The cause of the fire was not yet determined, Drohomereski said, adding the scene by the owner.

Both firefighters suffered small legs.
