The USB settings forum (USB-IF) has been included in the formal USB 3.2 on MWC 2019 (via the path) Hardware). The next format, which doubles the maximum USB data transfer speeds, has resulted in the delivery of 20GB to the second, for a USB 3.1 product exchange.
The USB 3.2 technical name is known as USB 3.2 Gen 2 × 2, which uses two high-speed 10Gbps channels. It gets USB 3.1 Gen 2, it will be called USB 3.2 Gen 2, renamed USB 3.1 Gen 1 with the previous USB 3.2 Gen 1.
It is a confusing title change, especially when it uses USB 3.1 Gen 1 USB 3.0. However, the USB-IF has proposed a number of terms for marketing to make it easier to understand, if the manufacturers decide. These are:
- SuperSpeed USB 20Gbps (USB 3.2 Gen 2 × 2)
- SuperSpeed USB 10Gbps (USB 3.1 Gen 2)
- SuperSpeed USB (USB 3.1 Gen 1, 5Gbps tops)
How will the effect of USB 3.1 Gen 2 × 2 affect the users of the phone?
USB 3.1 Gen 2×2 works only with USB-C, which can have the latest Android smartphones, but we must wait for next-generation chipsets. Qualcomm Snapdragon 855, which will supply 2019 many emblematic phones, supports 10Gbps transfer speed recently called USB 3.1 Gen 2.
However, there is also technological support, this is probably not much to worry about smartphone owners. Some Android users will have large enough files to take advantage of the 20Gbps connection. Laptop computers or desktop computers are something that users can use.
