Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, President of the State and Prime Ministers, said his visit would confirm the continuity of relations with Russia.
"This visit is of enormous importance to us (…) During the visit of the Council of State and the Cuban ministers, visiting the Russian Federation, we will confirm the continuity of the relationship between the Cuban Revolution and the Alliance in Russia" Diaz-Canel said at the beginning of the Russian President Vladimir Putin's meeting in Kremlin.

Díaz-Canel promised to continue the legacy of former Cuban leaders, Fidel and Raúl Castro, and emphasized Putin's contribution to bilateral relations.
He also asked the Russian President to visit Cuba.

The Cuban leader arrived in Moscow for his first official visit, which runs until November 3rd.
During the meeting between Putin and Diaz-Canel, the plans announced by the Kremlin will discuss the current status and prospects of bilateral strategic co-operation in different areas and current international and regional issues.
