Erling Haaland is once again the hero of Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League. The Norwegian striker scored two goals on Tuesday as his team beat Club Bruja 3-0. The 20-year-old has already scored six goals in this edition of the Champions League, and has already scored 16 goals in this competition.
As if Haaland would shoot in Europe
Tuesday’s first goal was the 15th Champions League goal. The Norwegian only needed 12 games to reach that number. No one had done it faster before.
Ruud Van Nistelrooy and Roberto Soldado needed 19 games to score 15 goals, while Harry Kanek needed 20 goals. It took 25 games to score so many goals for Robert Lewandowski, 29 for Lionel Messi and 51 for Cristiano Ronaldo! For comparison: After 12 appearances in the Champions League, the Argentine had only two goals on his merit, and the Portuguese none!
Haaland has already scored more goals than the biggest football stars in the Champions League!
Haaland has more goals in this competition than Roberto Firmino, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Paulo Dybala, Brazilian Ronaldo, Zinedine Zidane, David Villa, Miroslav Klose or Adriano.
Haaland is the most successful player of the season so far in the Champions League. The Norwegian is the leader with six goals, and Marcus Rashford of Manchester United and Alvaro Morat of Juventus are five. Liverpool’s Diogo Jota scored four goals.
Haaland has made 13 appearances in every competition this season, scoring a total of 17 goals.
