Norwegian Halvor Egner Granerud won the ski world cup competition held in Nizhny Tagil on Sunday. The best Polish – Paweł Wąsek – took sixth place. This is the best result in the career of a 21-year-old player from Cieszyn.

The Norwegians took the top three places – Halvor Egner Granerud was first, Robert Johansson – second and Marius Lindvik – third.

Paweł Wąs jumped 128 m in the first lap and 121.5 m in the second, finishing sixth. Aleksander Zniszczol showed jumps of 113.5 and 123.5 meters and finished 19th in the competition.

The Austrians were left out of Sunday’s competition. Coronavirus tests have been positive for Daniel Huber, Thomas Lackner, Manuel Fettner and Jan Hoerl. It was decided that the rest of the players in this country (Markus Schiffner and Maximilian Steiner) who had a negative test result would not compete that day.

Coach Michal Dolezal did not call in the main Polish jumpers: Piotr Żyła, Dawid Kubacki and Kamil Stoch for the Russian competition. They are preparing for the World Flight Championship that will start on Thursday in Planika.
