Wednesday, November 28, is a great alliance between two big companies: Ikea, Swedish furniture specialist, and Xiaomi, Chinese manufacturer of electronic products, work on combined products. More specifically, the agreement says Ikea bulbs will be compatible with the Xiaomi Mi Home home automation platform, from December 1st, and in China for the moment. It will be easy to control clear houses, using Ikea connected lamps with the central and Xiaomi application.
The scope of this agreement seems to be reduced, especially in this interoperability soon on co-operation with ambitious paths. In fact, The Swedish giant has been interested in many of the products connected for several years, providing bulbs and sills rates are particularly interesting, as we announced a few weeks (see news). But electronics is not the heart of Ikea's business, and it has been a sense of not having invented the wheel instead of joining the expert in the field.
And it's amazing, choosing Xiaomi is very smart. In fact it is Chinese manufacturers are known for geeks to get smartphones money, we must not forget High-tech range of high-tech products stand out, robot vacuum cleaner, box television, Wi-Fi routers and home automation. Especially when the phone is set as a benchmark in the world – that's it the fourth smartphone vendor in the world, Behind Samsung, Huawei and Apple – Xiaomi wants to go beyond the Asian market to expand on the planet, especially in Europe. Ikea agreement is, therefore, an excellent way of improving its reputation, internationally. Let us hope that other products and more ambitions will be created together.
