ZURICH, February 27 (Reuters) – The Swiss Sunrise Communications Group announces Wednesday the acquisition of the Liberty Global Swiss Partner UPC, CHF 6.3 trillion (5,500 million euros). , including debts.
The agreement will strengthen Sunrise as a number two in the Swiss telecommunications market.
A few days ago it confirmed that the group negotiates the purchase of UPC, has 1.1 million customers in its television services and has 138,000 subscribers for Swiss mobile phones.
Sunrise will pay 2.6 billion free money for Liberty and the UPC debt will go down to 3.6 million francs.
Liberty Global, a company created by John Malone, has sold its Austrian T-Mobile Austria subsidiary last year and the European Commission has decided to sell sales of German and European activities from Eastern Vodafone to $ 21.8 million (€ 19.2 million).
