The first high-profile signing has earned LCK, as T1 has acquired former DRX support in its Keria starting lineup.
The 18-year-old phenomenon made waves during 2020 as one of the best young supporters in Korea — he and veteran AD became a terrifying Deft in the bottom lane of the LCK. With the Chovy midfield superstars, the team was able to finish in the top three in the spring and summer divisions.
According to Oracle’s Elixir, Keria directs all LCDA support in the KDA and kills the participation rate in the 2020 Summer Distribution, but has also had the lowest average group death rate in its role. He actually led the entire league with 401 assists, which is 78 more assists than the T1 Support Effort.
At Worlds, he joined a DRX team in LPL’s TOP Esports, LCS’s FlyQuest and LCL’s second-placed Unicorns of Love-Korea to easily qualify for the playoffs, losing only twice against TES.
Unfortunately, DRX DAMWON Gaming was paired with world champions in the first round of the playoffs. In the 2020 Summer Split playoffs, DRX lost to DWG in the grand finals, and this time it was no different – Keria and his teammates dominated.
Keria will now lead the AD stars in the lower lane of Teddy for T1. Since Teddy joined the T1 team at the end of 2019, he has been one of the best shooters in the league. Last season, he led all of KDA’s LCK ADCs, which had only 53 dead through 42 games.
With the star-studded bottom lane locked in the Spring Split of 2021, T1 may have the firepower to face DAMWON when we finally hit the new year.
