Julian’s Auctions has announced the sale of the famous gun he carried in the first “James Bond” movie that Sean Connery showed in the cinema, at a price of $ 256,000.
The house said the buyer was an American who preferred to remain anonymous, according to “AFP,” on Friday.
Sean Connery, who died in October at the age of 90, carried this Walther BP pistol in 1962 to Doctor No. in the film.
In this feature film, the British agent is ordered to replace the old “Beretta” gun with the “Walther” model. The film says “American intelligence services only use this type.”
In its various versions this gun remained the weapon of choice for Agent 007 in the following 25 films.
Walter BP Julian’s Auctions was one of the 500 most notable pieces of Hollywood cinema to be offered at a private auction on Thursday.
Among those parts was a helmet worn by Tom Cruis in the movie “Top Gun,” which sold for $ 108,000.
The release of the next part of the James Bond film “No Time to Die” was delayed due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The film, which Daniel Craig will finally play as Agent 007, is expected in April 2021.
Sean Connery is considered by many to be the best James Bond actor on screen. Connery played the role six times, as well as an adapted version of the film Never Say Never Again.
