A couple of weeks ago, Tesla models sold S and electric vehicles with the X model with sales of 75 kWh battery, leaving only 100 kWh batteries more expensive versions of the product line. It seems that the satisfaction of potential buyers was so noticeable that the company's management decision was changed again.
When ordering the Tesla Model S electric sedan, two versions are available: Standard Model S, $ 85,000 and Advanced Model S Performance, $ 112,000. As you can see, today it is clear that there is no compatibility, the manufacturer has limited 310 thousand and 315 miles reserve capacity respectively.
However, according to specialized publications, the same 100 kWh unit is installed on electric vehicles. In this case, in the initial version, the driver will not have the full capacity and will have to pay an amount of $ 8,000 to unblock the volume of 100 kWh, thus receiving 8% more energy reserve (335%). Depending on the power reserve, the minimum battery capacity will be 75 kWh higher than in previous configurations.
With Tesla Model X electric car, the situation is similar – Standard Model X is offered to $ 88,000 and Model X Performance is $ 117,000. In the first case, we ask that you reserve the power of 270 thousand (or 295 thousand $ 8,000 extra payment) in the second – 289 thousand. The battery situations are similar: they have the same unit of 100 kWh in all versions, but if you do not select Performance Modification, you will have to pay the full amount.
It is interesting that the "Play Mode" mode is sold separately, even though it has previously been part of the Performance versions. Thus, fans with the most active acceleration will have to pay an additional $ 20,000 to improve the cost of an electric car to improve the dynamics.
Note that even though the 75 kWh version of the queue is reluctant, Ilon Musk said that the company intends to directly change the fluctuations in the electric vehicle's electric vehicles, with more "marketing" nominations, such as "Standard Range", "Mid Range" and "Extended Range "".
Remember that this is not new versions of Tesla for the first time. For example, the 75 kW version of 2016 has been canceled as a cheaper alternative for 90 kWh battery, which is no longer sold. At the beginning of the sales, the Tesla model was a 40 kWh battery and a little later, customers were selected for 60 kWh and 70 kWh, and at the same time, they were limited to 75 kWh basic compatibility software.
