ORLANDO, Fla. – Music legend Elton John, who was scheduled to perform in Orlando at the Amway Center Tuesday night and Tampa Wednesday night, has canceled his sold-out shows due to an ear infection.

Amway Center officials in Orlando announced on Twitter that the singer would not be able to perform due to the illness.
Officials announced the show's cancellation on Twitter almost an hour after 8 p.m., when the Orlando show was scheduled to start.
Amway Center officials encouraged attendees to keep their tickets, as "rescheduled Orlando date will be announced in the near future."
He was scheduled to perform in Tampa Wednesday night at Amalie Arena, but the sold-out show has since been postponed and will be rescheduled as well.
Amalie Arena officials in a news release said tickets purchased for the original show are valid for the date rescheduled.
Elton John is currently on his farewell tour, "Farewell Yellow Brick Road," across the world. It kicked off in the U.S. in September.
