CALGARY – Alberta Health Services has acquired 53 students and an employee in an infectious tuberculosis at a high school in Calgary.
TB is a bacterial disease that causes lung cancer.
AHS has sent a notification letter to 53 friends for TB testing and treatment if needed.
The general public is not at risk and the risk of tuberculosis is low.
An AHS website spreads tuberculosis germs in others over the air, when a person with a disease does not cough, squeeze or speak.
