Emerson Collective, a company that is influenced by Laurene Powell, is an unknown amount to buy Pop-Up Magazine Productions. The San Francisco-based Pop-Up Magazine conducts live magazines in the country and publishes California Magazine online and off-the-shelf magazines, distributed in large newspapers, like the Los Angeles Times and the San Francisco Chronicle.
Purchase Palount High-based Emerson made a $ 10-million-dollar investment in Pop-Up last year. Since the launch of Pop-Up, it's been $ 4 million since its launch in 2014.
Emerson has made extensive investments through the non-profit arm of the past two years, including the largest buyer of the Atlántico magazine, as well as a large number of Hollywood producers, Concordia Studio, Anonymous Content and Macro. In addition, Gimlet Media and Internet news site have invested in Axios's podcast maker. Emerson – focuses on immigration, education and the environment. In a conversation with Pop-Up creators, Doug McGray and Chas Edwards, the pair said Pop-Up had many opportunities to expand the growing event business and magazine distribution.
