JOHANNESBURG – President Cyril Ramaphosa has discussed ways to strengthen US-Africa relations in a phone call with President-elect Joe Biden.

The presidency has said that Biden and Vice-President-elect Kamala Harris have seen Africa as an important player in international affairs and the progress of multilateralism.

Leaders recalled the visit of President-elect Biden to South Africa in the dark days of apartheid, and the presidency said the American had shown a commitment to the human rights and dignity of all South Africans.
